雲のむこう、約束の場所 [Blu-ray]

I’ve watched this a few times now and the transfer really does justice to Shinkai’s soft, glowing skies—every cloud and train window feels crisp without losing that dreamy tone. It’s a quiet film about friendship and distance, but the emotional weight hits harder each viewing.

Still can’t get the ending out of my head days later—Shinkai’s debut has that quiet ache that lingers. The Blu-ray transfer really does justice to those impossibly blue skies and soft light, even on a modest TV.

Watched this on a rainy Sunday afternoon and the melancholic tone of the friendship story hit just right. The Blu-ray's picture quality makes the soft, dreamlike backgrounds practically glow, and the audio track really brings out the haunting score.
