サマーゴースト [Blu-ray]

Watching this after lighting actual fireworks felt like a rite of passage—the animation captures that summer haze perfectly, and the ghost's design is hauntingly beautiful. The Blu-ray transfer is crisp, making the final act's emotional payoff hit even harder.

The three teens' stories hit close to home in a way I wasn't expecting, and the animation is gorgeous on this disc. The transfer is crisp with no artifacts, and the bonus features give a nice behind-the-scenes look at the production.

Watching it on Blu-ray really makes the animation pop, especially the warm summer light scenes at the airfield. The way each of the three teens' struggles unfolds hit me harder than I expected for a 40-minute film.
