My Neighbor Totoro [Blu-ray + DVD]

The English dub is surprisingly faithful to the original Japanese, and my kids were completely hooked from the opening scene. Having both the Blu-ray and DVD in one case makes it easy to play in the car or on the living room TV.

The Blu-ray transfer is so crisp that the rain scenes in the forest feel almost immersive, and having both discs in one case is handy for swapping between players. It’s been years since I last watched this and the magic still holds up completely.

Bought this as a gift for my niece, and the Blu-ray picture quality is stunning — the forest scenes in Totoro look almost watercolor-fresh. Having both Blu-ray and DVD in one case means she can watch it on her old player at home, which was the deciding factor for me.
