Quick answer
Pre-order the LOVE & POP Blu-ray if you want Hideaki Anno's live-action debut in your collection and can wait for the October 6, 2026 ship date. It is a single-disc Blu-ray release, so do not expect extras beyond what the listing confirms.
Why this release matters for Anno fans
LOVE & POP is Hideaki Anno's live-action feature debut, adapted from Ryū Murakami's novel. For collectors who know Anno from his animated work, this Blu-ray is a chance to see his transition into live-action storytelling. The film's premise follows Tokyo schoolgirl Hiromi over one summer day as she tries to earn ¥128,000 for a topaz ring. That grounded, time-bound setup is a world away from giant robots, which is exactly why Anno completists may want it.
What the listing does and does not confirm
The product page describes a Blu-ray edition and notes the pre-order ship date, but it does not list on-disc extras, a booklet, or a slipcover. If those details are important to you, treat them as unconfirmed rather than assuming a collector's edition. The safe expectation is the film on Blu-ray in the standard packaging shown.
LOVE & POP pre-order questions, answered
- When does the LOVE & POP Blu-ray release?
- The listed pre-order ship date is October 6, 2026. That is the date the store expects to send orders, not necessarily the day it arrives at your door. Mark the ship date, then add typical transit time for your region.
- What is included with the Blu-ray?
- The listing confirms a Blu-ray edition of the film. It does not mention extra discs, booklets, or digital copies, so plan for the disc and standard case only. If you need confirmed extras, wait for a full specs announcement.
- Is this the Hideaki Anno film?
- Yes. This is the live-action feature debut from Hideaki Anno, based on the novel by Ryū Murakami. It is not an animated film.
- Can I cancel a pre-order?
- Pre-order cancellation policies vary by store. Check the store's policy before ordering if your plans might change. Review the cancellation terms before you commit.
