Quick Answer

If you're a Lupin fan or a collector of anime films, the LUPIN THE IIIRD: The Movie - The Immortal Bloodline Blu-ray is a strong addition to your library, offering the film in high definition with a compelling story. Check the disc specs and extras to see if it matches your expectations.

Why the Story Matters

The film follows Lupin III and his crew after they accept a strange invitation to an uncharted island. Their plane is shot down, and they soon find themselves hunted by the island's inhabitants and a monstrous immortal being named Muom. The plot also introduces a deadly toxic fog, raising the stakes for Lupin and his allies.

This entry in the LUPIN THE IIIRD series leans into a darker, more action-heavy tone, which may appeal to viewers who enjoy a more serious take on the gentleman thief. If you're new to the series, this film can still be enjoyed on its own, though prior knowledge of the characters adds depth.

What to Look for in a Blu-ray Release

When considering an anime Blu-ray, check the video and audio quality, as well as any extra features. High-definition video and lossless audio can significantly enhance the viewing experience, especially for action scenes. Bonus content like interviews or behind-the-scenes features can add value for collectors.

For this release, the listed price is $21.89 (with a catalog price of $29.98), which is a reasonable price point for a Blu-ray. If you're a fan of the series, the price is competitive compared to other anime releases.

Decision Rules for Buying This Blu-ray

Are you a Lupin fan?: If you enjoy the LUPIN THE IIIRD series, this film is a must-have for your collection. It continues the story in a darker, action-packed direction. Fans should prioritize this release.
Do you value high-definition video?: If you prefer to watch anime in the best possible quality, the Blu-ray format delivers sharper visuals and better audio than standard DVD. This is a key reason to choose the Blu-ray over other formats. Blu-ray is the way to go for video quality.
Are you looking for bonus features?: If you expect a wealth of extras, note that the available catalog facts do not specify any included bonus content. If extras are a priority, you may want to check the packaging or retailer details before purchasing. Don't assume extras are included; verify before buying.
