Porco Rosso [Blu-ray + DVD]

The picture quality on this Blu-ray really makes the seaplanes and Adriatic sunsets pop, and having both discs means I can lend the DVD to a friend without giving up my main copy. Miyazaki's world-building here feels just as rich and charming as his later hits, a quiet gem I keep coming back to.

The picture on this Blu-ray is stunning, the Adriatic coastline and the seaplane dogfights just pop with color. It’s a beautiful transfer of one of Miyazaki’s most underrated films, and having the DVD copy as a backup is a nice bonus.

Watched this with my kids on a rainy Sunday and the Adriatic scenery in Blu-ray is just gorgeous, the colors pop off the screen. The dogfight sequences are thrilling enough for adults while the story stays charming for the little ones.
