ALL YOU NEED IS KILL [Blu-ray]

The alien flower plot is way weirder than the cover lets on, but the 1080p transfer makes the battle scenes pop and the extras on Rita's character are worth a rewatch. I've seen it twice already since it arrived, and the packaging is sturdy enough to survive my shelf-shoving habit.

The rebuild-Japan setting really pulls you in, and the Blu-ray's sharp visuals make the alien flower's scale feel massive on screen. I watched it twice in one weekend and caught something new each time, plus the menus are slick and easy to navigate.

Picture quality is stunning for a live-action adaptation, and the steelbook case feels surprisingly premium in hand. The alien flower design on the cover really pops, and the behind-the-scenes extras are a nice bonus for fans of the original novel.
