酷瓜人生 [Blu-ray]

The animation style is so understated that it makes the emotional beats hit even harder—Zucchini’s quiet first night in the foster home got me right in the chest. The Blu-ray transfer is crisp enough to catch every subtle facial expression, which really matters for a film this character-driven.

The foster-home scenes feel so warm and lived-in, and the orphan kids’ voices are perfectly cast on this Blu-ray — the picture really highlights the hand-drawn textures. I’ve watched it twice already, and both times the ending got me right in the chest.

The transfer is crisp enough that the muted colors of the foster home really pop, and the dialogue comes through clean. Raymond's quiet kindness toward Zucchini had me tearing up by the end of the first act, and the special features on the disc are a nice bonus.
