ฟอร์จูน เฟเวอร์ส เลดี้ นิคุโกะ [บลูเรย์ + ดีวีดี]

The slipcover art is gorgeous and the Blu-ray transfer really brings out Studio4°C's rich, textured backgrounds. I laughed and teared up in equal measure watching Nikuko's story unfold, and the DVD copy is a nice bonus for borrowing out to friends.

Studio4°C’s tactile animation really shines here, and the director's knack for blending whimsy with genuine emotion had me tearing up by the midpoint. The combo pack is a nice bonus since the behind-the-scenes featurette on the DVD disc adds real context to the magical realism.

The transfer to Blu-ray is crisp and colorful, which really brings Studio4°C's warm animation to life on my TV — the water scenes especially pop. I watched it with my mom and we were both wiping our eyes by the end, it's such a sweet story about Nikuko and her daughter.
