Experience Yoshihiro Kanno's magical soundtrack for one of the defining OVA masterpieces of the 80s on a gorgeous clear sky-blue colored vinyl. This is a reissue of the latest remastering with full jacket restoration, featuring an illustration by Yoshitaka Amano. Also included is an original fold-out color booklet with newly written liner notes (in Japanese and English) for 2025 by Yoshihiro Kanno and Hidenori Maejima, alongside a reprint of Mamoru Oshii and Takuya Katagiri original notes.

First released directly to home video in 1985, Angel's Egg is a creative collaboration between internationally acclaimed director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell), who wrote and directed the feature, and revered artist Yoshitaka Amano (Final Fantasy, Vampire Hunter D). The film beautifully intertwines Oshii’s thematic reflections on philosophy and theology, with Amano’s distinctive ink painting style, culminating in an arrestingly beautiful hand-drawn allegorical fantasy.

Mia ★★★★★

The warmth of Yoshihiro Kanno’s score comes through beautifully on this reissue, and the remastering really lets the subtle piano and strings breathe. The clear sky-blue pressing is a stunning touch that fits the mood perfectly. I’ve already spun it twice tonight.

Carter X. ★★★★★

The clear sky-blue vinyl is absolutely stunning under light, almost like holding a piece of the ocean. Spinning it feels like the soundtrack finally gets the warmth and depth it always deserved, and the remaster makes every piano note glow.

Avery C. ★★★★☆

The clear sky-blue vinyl looks even better in person than in the photos, and the remastered audio really lets the quiet piano and ambient textures breathe. I do wish the sleeve felt a bit sturdier for the price, but the pressing itself is clean and flawless.
